30th May 2008

Mike Healing's chronicle of the 2007 season entitled 'Dreams to Reality' can be ordered from the Widnes Rugby League Museum priced £10.99.  All proceeds from the book going to the Club.

 

20th April

Widnes Caps, Scalves and Fleeces are now available from the museum shop (Subject to availability)

 

10th April

We have now included a reference section in the museum, and also we have recently had several new donations, including 1993 Wembley blazer donated by Esene Faimalo.

 

28th March

The museum will be open again on Friday 4th April

 

11th March

Due to the Leigh & Whitehaven games we have to shut between 16th March till 4th April.

There will be regular updates of new items added to the collection in the ‘Viking Storm ‘ from the Leigh game onwards

 

8th March

We had a display at the Sports persons Dinner in partnership with Widnes Supporters Club. Below is a photo of the past players that attended the dinner  they were players from the 1989 squad that won the World Club Challenge against Canberra

We are proud to announce that the museum is sponsoring the full-back position, and that the visitors donations have contributed to the sponsorship of Paul Noone's kit.

The Brow yr 5 and yr 6 pupils visited the museum.

Barry McDermott, Terry O'Connor, Phil Clarke and Eddie Hemming from Sky Sports visited the museum.

 

2nd November 2007

Weston Point became the first school to visit the museum. The museum is working in partnership with "Vikings in the Community"

Widnes players took time out of their busy schedule to visit the museum.

WE OPEN ON THE 4th AUGUST !!!!

Please come along and give us your support on the day. So many people have pulled together to make this possible and we really want to meet and thank everyone personally.

 

8th April 2007

We have received £2000 in sponsorship money from HBC Area Forum and £3000 from Mersey Partnerships. We thank both organisations for their support

 

23rd January 2007   

We have received a grant of £43,200 from the National Lottery Fund. This award will allow us to transform the East Stand Concourse of the Halton Stadium into phase 1 of the Heritage Centre. We would like to thank everyone who has helped us to achieve this grant.

We have received a community grant from B&Q to cover the painting costs of the concourse.  A big thank you to B&Q for your support

 

14th November 2006

We held a display at the Community Foundation for Merseyside's AGM and would like to thank them for their supporting grant.

 

31st October 2006

We have submitted a Heritage Application and have been assigned a grants advisor who will look after our application. We have to wait about 3 months before we find out if we have been successful so more news on that as soon as we can.
